Meet Deborah
The Air Force brought our family to San Antonio 27 years ago, so I now say I’m from here since it’s the longest I’ve lived anywhere. My husband served just over 20 years in the Air Force and though it was a challenge at times, we loved the experiences the military gave us. We have been married for 40 years and have three daughters together, 2 sons-in-law, and 2 adorable grandsons. These are my people and I dearly love each of their very individual and unique personalities and all they bring to our family!
My passion for counseling grew out of my many years of various volunteer service roles at my church, my daughters’ school, and as a military officer’s wife. I’d listen to the stories of hurting people and offer my support or help in any way I could. I seemed to have a radar for the person in the room who was hurting and needed a listening ear and I loved being able to offer empathy and comfort. As I was awakened and became more self-aware of the innate traits and gifts I had for helping people, it became clear that the next step was to become academically and professionally trained. The training combined with my natural empathic and caring style is what creates a safe, judgment-free, and trusting alliance between me and my clients. It would be my great honor to join you as we walk the path of healing together, and discover a stronger, healthier, more self-aware YOU!
